Biography

Dr. Fred Xavier is a physician-scientist, biomedical engineer, medical educator, and medical affairs professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning orthopedic surgery, translational research, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence. His career has integrated clinical expertise and scientific innovation through appointments at leading academic institutions and healthcare organizations across North America and Europe.

Dr. Xavier serves as Associate Professor of Anatomy and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the ��Ƶ College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he teaches medical students and contributes to curriculum development in musculoskeletal medicine and clinical sciences. He is also Co-Founder of Xavibi, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in biomedical technologies and scientific communications.

An orthopedic surgeon by training, Dr. Xavier completed his residency in France, followed by fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics and adult spine surgery in France and Canada. He earned both an MS and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering through New York University and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He later completed a postdoctoral clinical research fellowship in spinal disorders at Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.

His scholarly interests include orthopedic biomechanics, spinal deformity, medical devices, biomaterials, tissue engineering, surgical innovation, and artificial intelligence in healthcare.

He has held industry leadership and consulting roles in medical affairs, regulatory strategy, pharmacovigilance, clinical evidence generation, and healthcare compliance.

Dr. Xavier has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and scientific reports and has presented internationally at meetings including NASS, ORS, ICEOS, CSS, and PHUSE.

Dr. Xavier is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, with intermediate proficiency in Spanish.

Outside of his professional activities, Dr. Xavier is a devoted father of two daughters. He enjoys painting, soccer, hiking, swimming, and music (viola, guitar, choir ensembles).

Kristin Weidert (“why-dirt") is an osteopathic board-certified pediatrician and IBCLC with a passion for using hands on osteopathic neuromuscular medicine techniques to help the populations she treats. Since completing pediatric residency in Detroit, Michigan, she has been in general pediatrics practice positions ranging from full spectrum academic pediatrics to private practice/pediatric express care and most recently newborn hospitalist. Throughout her clinical career, she has always enjoyed teaching patients, parents, and students which inspired this transition to teach osteopathic medical students full time. In her free time, she loves spending time outside with her family.

Biography

Leslie “Tré” McClinton, III serves as the Simulation Specialist for the D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Born and raised in Mississippi, he developed an early passion for service, healthcare, and education values that continue to guide his work in medical education and biomedical research.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tougaloo College in 2023. His undergraduate research focused on the molecular mechanisms of castration-resistant prostate cancer, which laid the foundation for his continued interests in translational research and medical education. He has gained experience in laboratory instruction, clinical research, and healthcare education through work with Tougaloo College, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the University at Buffalo.

At D’Youville, Tré is dedicated to advancing simulation-based medical education by supporting hands-on, experiential learning that builds clinical confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. He values collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to create meaningful learning experiences that prepare future clinicians for practice.

He is passionate about the intersection of medicine, research, and education, with a long-term interest in contributing to healthcare innovation and biomedical discovery.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching basketball.

Biography

Dr. Jordan Keys is the Associate Dean of Osteopathic Integration and OMM Chair at D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also co-owns a private practice in Midtown Manhattan with her colleague, Keys.

Board-certified in both Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, Jordan brings a holistic and systems-based approach to healthcare. Her professional passions lie in advancing osteopathic medicine, exploring the structural and systemic factors that contribute to health disparities—including structural racism and LGBTQIA+ healthcare inequities—and integrating somatic approaches to trauma care. She has completed an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy certification through The Embody Lab.

Dr. Keys is the founder of the Conference on Osteopathic Research and Knowledge (CORK), an initiative created to advance scholarship, collaboration, and innovation within the osteopathic profession. Through CORK, she has helped cultivate a national forum where clinicians, educators, researchers, and trainees can share emerging evidence, foster interdisciplinary partnerships, and promote the integration of osteopathic principles into research and clinical practice. Her leadership in establishing this conference reflects her commitment to expanding the scientific foundation of osteopathic medicine and mentoring the next generation of osteopathic scholars.

Dr. Keys has developed and implemented innovative OMM curricula incorporating structural competency and cultural humility. She continues to advocate for trauma-informed, inclusive spaces in both clinical and academic settings. Her work is grounded in the belief that understanding ourselves and the systems we operate within is key to creating environments where everyone can thrive.

Biography

Dr. Goldstein earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2014 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2017.

Committed to improving access to healthcare globally, Dr. Goldstein has participated in international medical outreach efforts in Chiang Mai, Thailand; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Guayaquil, Ecuador, providing care to underserved populations. Following residency, he practiced throughout the United States as a locum tenens physician before returning to his hometown of Buffalo, New York.

In Buffalo, Dr. Goldstein has served as a hospitalist at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, a physician advisor for Catholic Health, and a clinical teaching attending at Sisters Hospital. He is deeply committed to medical education and mentorship, finding great fulfillment in supporting the growth of residents and medical students as they develop clinical knowledge, judgment, and confidence throughout their training.

In 2025, Dr. Goldstein received the David J. Martinke, D.O. Distinguished Educator Award in recognition of his dedication to physician education and resident training.

Biography

Dr. O‘Brien is a EMS professional/educator, and EMS physician. His clinical practice is divided between shifts in the Emergency Department and operational medicine. He provides medical direction to Erie Community College‘s EMS training programs and the Niagara County Sheriff‘s Office Emergency Response Team. He responds with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department's Emergency Medical Unit and is the Associate System Medical Director and Flight Physician for Mercy Flight of Western New York. He is a sworn police officer and serves as a law enforcement officer in a Genesee County municipality.

Dr. O‘Brien‘s interests center around prehospital resuscitation, tactical medicine/aggressive deadly behavior attacks, and extracorporeal life support (ECLS). He is a subject matter expert in Emergency Medical Services, aeromedical evacuation/retrieval, and tactical medicine/active threat incidents. He is a frequent speaker on topics such as out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, operational/austere medicine, and the ethics of emergency care. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. He serves on national committees of the National Association of EMS Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, National Tactical Officers Association, Special Operations Medical Association, and the Air Medical Physician Association.

Biography

Dr. Kozlowski is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician currently practicing throughout the Catholic Health System in Buffalo, NY. As a native of Buffalo, he understands the unique challenges of our population and is able to tailor patient treatment accordingly. On his free time he enjoys golfing, boating on Lake Erie and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Biography

Dr. Steinig is a 1980 graduate of Tonawanda HS and a City of Tonawanda native. He has a BS in Chemistry and was graduated with honors in 1984 from Canisius College. He is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine 1988. He was a surgical intern and research fellow at UB for two years and then completed his surgical residency at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia from 1990-1995. He has received multiple teaching awards and published multiple papers. He also presented his work at the state, national, and international level during those years.

Dr. Steinig entered private practice in General and Vascular surgery primarily at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo where he performed an estimated 25,000 operations. He was president of the Medical Staff and president of the WNY Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He was a member of innumerable hospital committees and has chaired multiple committees. He served as National Governor of the American College of Surgeons. He was honored to be the physician of distinction at Mercy and received the John Davanzo Stroke Award. He has collaborated closely with administration, board members, physicians, APPs, and staff. He has taught surgical residents, medical students, PA students, and NP students while also mentoring many college and high school students.

His passion for patient advocacy led to him establishing an inpatient Advanced Illness and Palliative Care service at Mercy Hospital and Sisters Hospital in June of 2018 while finishing his operative surgical career at the end of 2018. He was part of the leadership at the COVID unit at St Joseph’s Hospital during the peak of the pandemic. He served on multiple community boards and organizations. Dr. Steinig retired from his clinical practice on his wedding anniversary September 30, 2025. He is happily married to his wife Maria and is the proud father of four children who all live and work in the community. He is also the proud grandfather of an eight-month-old girl.

Dr. Steinig is fully committed to patient advocacy as well as improving medical care in our community. He looks forward to mentoring the next generation of physicians and caregivers at D’Youville University. He has a quite diverse skill set and vast clinical experience which he is looking forward to sharing.

Biography

Dr. Tyler has attended medical school in Tulsa, OK at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated in 1996 and moved to complete scholarship obligations with the US Army at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX where he completed his Internal Medicine residency.

After residency, he moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he practiced traditional Internal Medicine. In 2013, Dr. Tyler moved to his hometown of Joplin, MO to be closer to his aging parents. While there, he practiced mainly hospital medicine with additional work in primary care, palliative medicine, and hospice.

Dr. Tyler has obtained his Master of Science degree in Medical Education Leadership with a passionate interest in curriculum development and implementation. His present role with D’Youville University is as the Associate Dean of Clinical Medical Education and as an Associate Professor with the Clinical Medicine department.

Personal hobbies are photography, being outdoors, and hanging out with his two little dogs, Sammy and Sophie. Dr. Tyler is excited for snow storms and really cold weather!

Biography

Nicholas Camposeo, DO, FACEP, serves as Dean of the D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine (DYU-COM). A board-certified emergency medicine physician, he brings extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and academic leadership to the role. Since joining D’Youville as one of the founding members of the College’s leadership team, Dr. Camposeo has played an integral role in developing the curriculum, establishing clinical partnerships, and helping guide the College from concept to reality.

Dr. Camposeo earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University at Buffalo before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University. He returned to Western New York to complete his emergency medicine residency at the University at Buffalo, training in urban, suburban, and rural healthcare settings. Today, he serves as an attending emergency medicine physician at Erie County Medical Center through UBMD Emergency Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Camposeo has been deeply committed to the education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals. Prior to joining D’Youville, he served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Assistant Program Director for the University at Buffalo’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program. His interests include medical simulation, clinical skills development, and supporting students as they navigate the challenges of professional education. In recognition of his dedication to teaching, he was named Academic Teaching Attending of the Year by UBMD Emergency Medicine in 2022.

Dr. Camposeo remains actively engaged in the osteopathic profession. He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). As Dean, he is committed to advancing D’Youville’s mission of educating compassionate, highly skilled physicians and strengthening healthcare access throughout Western New York and beyond.
