Biography

Dr. Shaquria P. Adderley is a dedicated educator, scholar, and academic leader, she brings extensive experience in medical and graduate education, curriculum development, and assessment in osteopathic and health professions education.

Dr. Adderley earned her PhD in Pharmacology and Physiology and her academic career spans multiple institutions and she has held key leadership roles across medical, physician assistant, and graduate programs.

Dr. Adderley’s leadership extends to institutional service, where she has chaired and contributed to numerous committees, including assessment, curriculum, admissions, and student progress and professionalism committees. She has also led diversity initiatives and faculty governance efforts, demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusive excellence and student success.

Her research background focuses on vascular biology, endothelial function, and signaling pathways, with numerous peer-reviewed publications. Her work has contributed to understanding mechanisms of vascular regulation and cellular signaling in health and disease.

Dr. Adderley is also involved in faculty development and is a member of several professional organizations. In addition to her academic roles, she is actively engaged in mentoring students and junior faculty, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists.

Biography

Dr. Goldstein earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2014 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2017.

Committed to improving access to healthcare globally, Dr. Goldstein has participated in international medical outreach efforts in Chiang Mai, Thailand; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Guayaquil, Ecuador, providing care to underserved populations. Following residency, he practiced throughout the United States as a locum tenens physician before returning to his hometown of Buffalo, New York.

In Buffalo, Dr. Goldstein has served as a hospitalist at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, a physician advisor for Catholic Health, and a clinical teaching attending at Sisters Hospital. He is deeply committed to medical education and mentorship, finding great fulfillment in supporting the growth of residents and medical students as they develop clinical knowledge, judgment, and confidence throughout their training.

In 2025, Dr. Goldstein received the David J. Martinke, D.O. Distinguished Educator Award in recognition of his dedication to physician education and resident training.

Biography

Dr. O‘Brien is a EMS professional/educator, and EMS physician. His clinical practice is divided between shifts in the Emergency Department and operational medicine. He provides medical direction to Erie Community College‘s EMS training programs and the Niagara County Sheriff‘s Office Emergency Response Team. He responds with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department's Emergency Medical Unit and is the Associate System Medical Director and Flight Physician for Mercy Flight of Western New York. He is a sworn police officer and serves as a law enforcement officer in a Genesee County municipality.

Dr. O‘Brien‘s interests center around prehospital resuscitation, tactical medicine/aggressive deadly behavior attacks, and extracorporeal life support (ECLS). He is a subject matter expert in Emergency Medical Services, aeromedical evacuation/retrieval, and tactical medicine/active threat incidents. He is a frequent speaker on topics such as out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, operational/austere medicine, and the ethics of emergency care. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. He serves on national committees of the National Association of EMS Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, National Tactical Officers Association, Special Operations Medical Association, and the Air Medical Physician Association.

Dr. Kozlowski is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician currently practicing throughout the Catholic Health System in Buffalo, NY. As a native of Buffalo, he understands the unique challenges of our population and is able to tailor patient treatment accordingly. On his free time he enjoys golfing, boating on Lake Erie and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Four-week immersive experience offers early exposure to osteopathic medical education

��Ƶ will launch its new Summer DOctor program this summer, a free four-week, in-person enrichment experience designed for undergraduate and pre-professional students interested in pursuing careers in osteopathic medicine.

Scheduled to begin on June 1st, the non-credit program offers participants a unique opportunity to explore human anatomy through the lens of osteopathic medicine while gaining early exposure to the structure, expectations, and rigor of medical school.

Summer DOctor is built to introduce students to the foundations of medical education in an engaging, hands-on environment. Participants will learn directly from faculty within D’Youville’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and other health professions programs, gaining insight into both clinical concepts and potential academic pathways.

Throughout the four-week experience, students will engage in a combination of interactive instruction, applied learning, and professional exposure. The program emphasizes the connection between anatomical knowledge and patient care, while also introducing students to the collaborative nature of modern healthcare education.

Offered on D’Youville’s campus, Summer DOctor reflects the University’s broader focus on experiential learning and interprofessional engagement, hallmarks of its growing health sciences portfolio and new College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Space is limited, and interested students are encouraged to learn more and apply.

Biography

Dr. Macario Llamas, M.D., M.B.A., serves as the Associate Dean of Preclinical and Integrated Medical Education at D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine. A medical educator with more than two decades of clinical and academic experience, Dr. Llamas specializes in anatomy, neuroanatomy, clinical skills, and integrated biomedical sciences. His career includes faculty and leadership roles across multiple colleges of osteopathic and allopathic medicine, with a strong record in curriculum development, student mentoring, and educational innovation.

He is dedicated to supporting students across all stages of their medical training by fostering inclusive, high-impact, learner-centered environments. Known for his commitment to student success, he has mentored learners in ways that address their individual personal and professional goals. His research spans anatomical variation, clinical case studies, and collaborative projects in neuroanatomy, and he actively engages students in scholarly work as a form of experiential learning.

Biography

Dr. Steinig is a 1980 graduate of Tonawanda HS and a City of Tonawanda native. He has a BS in Chemistry and was graduated with honors in 1984 from Canisius College. He is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine 1988. He was a surgical intern and research fellow at UB for two years and then completed his surgical residency at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia from 1990-1995. He has received multiple teaching awards and published multiple papers. He also presented his work at the state, national, and international level during those years.

Dr. Steinig entered private practice in General and Vascular surgery primarily at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo where he performed an estimated 25,000 operations. He was president of the Medical Staff and president of the WNY Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He was a member of innumerable hospital committees and has chaired multiple committees. He served as National Governor of the American College of Surgeons. He was honored to be the physician of distinction at Mercy and received the John Davanzo Stroke Award. He has collaborated closely with administration, board members, physicians, APPs, and staff. He has taught surgical residents, medical students, PA students, and NP students while also mentoring many college and high school students.

His passion for patient advocacy led to him establishing an inpatient Advanced Illness and Palliative Care service at Mercy Hospital and Sisters Hospital in June of 2018 while finishing his operative surgical career at the end of 2018. He was part of the leadership at the COVID unit at St Joseph’s Hospital during the peak of the pandemic. He served on multiple community boards and organizations. Dr. Steinig retired from his clinical practice on his wedding anniversary September 30, 2025. He is happily married to his wife Maria and is the proud father of four children who all live and work in the community. He is also the proud grandfather of an eight-month-old girl.

Dr. Steinig is fully committed to patient advocacy as well as improving medical care in our community. He looks forward to mentoring the next generation of physicians and caregivers at D’Youville University. He has a quite diverse skill set and vast clinical experience which he is looking forward to sharing.

The New Era Cap Foundation has committed $250,000 to support the development of D’Youville University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthening healthcare access across Buffalo and Western New York.

The investment will help advance a program designed to address regional physician shortages, with a focus on training doctors to serve both urban and rural medically underserved communities. D’Youville’s inaugural medical school class will begin in August 2026.

D’Youville University College of Medicine (DYU-COM) Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education Dr. Nicholas Camposeo has been elected to the Board of Directors of the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS), a division of the American Osteopathic Association representing osteopathic physicians across New York State.

Dr. Camposeo, a board-certified emergency medicine physician at Erie County Medical Center and a Buffalo native, brings extensive clinical and academic experience to the role. He completed his undergraduate and residency training at the University at Buffalo and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University.

His election reflects both his commitment to advancing osteopathic medicine and D’Youville’s growing presence within the profession. In addition to Dr. Camposeo’s appointment, DYU-COM Interim Dean Dr. Jay Danto serves on the NYSOMS Board in an ex-officio capacity, and Associate Dean Dr. David Broder, a past president of the organization, presided over the NYSOMS Annual Meeting as Parliamentarian.

Dr. Camposeo has a strong interest in medical education, particularly in simulation-based training, and is dedicated to supporting student success and professional development.

The New York State Osteopathic Medical Society advocates for osteopathic physicians and promotes the distinctive philosophy of whole-person care across the state.

Biography

Dr. Tyler has attended medical school in Tulsa, OK at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated in 1996 and moved to complete scholarship obligations with the US Army at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX where he completed his Internal Medicine residency.

After residency, he moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he practiced traditional Internal Medicine. In 2013, Dr. Tyler moved to his hometown of Joplin, MO to be closer to his aging parents. While there, he practiced mainly hospital medicine with additional work in primary care, palliative medicine, and hospice.

Dr. Tyler has obtained his Master of Science degree in Medical Education Leadership with a passionate interest in curriculum development and implementation. His present role with D’Youville University is as Chair of Primary Care and Associate Professor with the Clinical Medicine department.

Personal hobbies are photography, being outdoors, and hanging out with his two little dogs, Sammy and Sophie. Dr. Tyler is excited for snow storms and really cold weather!
